A lot of us have already heard the line, "I'll give you one more chance..." This may be because of something bad you did, or something you did but can still improve. And most certainly, there are times when the time you think you didn't meet the expectations of the one who told you this, then you'd go mad and all over the place trying to cover up what you did and when 'judgement day' arrived, the person gave you another chance. Isn't this very ironic and frustrating at the same time? But then again, if you really think about it, it really isn't bad. Now that is something we can think about - why are there more than one chances given to us when in fact they told us they'll be giving us one more chance?
Nobody in the world is perfect; that's the very beauty of life. Why? Because, first of all, when we are all perfect, then there will be no second choice. There will be no buts, or arguments - but, most of all; there will be no more ways to improve in things. We will be all stuck in the same state the whole time. There will be no small computers, no televisions, no internet, no iPods, iPads; anything that 'improves' our way of life. Therefore, life will be veeeerrrrryy boring. We'd be like living under a rock if we were all perfect.
And that is really why nobody is a perfect being. We tend to make mistakes and hence find ways to stop making these mistakes, at the same time, try to improve our life and make it easier. That's what urged people to make television, computers, the internet, and many various things we use in our daily life. To explain every single one of them would take us years just to do and I am very sure by then that more of these will appear.
But then again, we haven't answered the question yet, so why is it really so?
Well, in the first place, why would someone give you another chance? Ok, you were given to do something and when you presented it to that someone he/she will be giving you another chance to do that same thing again. Why would you do it again??? And even more, isn't what you did already enough to suffice the needs of that someone, so why, again would you repeat the process again? There are only 2 reasons why - one, because you did something wrong and he/she wants you to realize, and two, because he/she can see that you can improve more in doing that something. Let's first discuss reason number one.
It is already instinctive to us humans that when we do something wrong and was told that we really did something wrong, we'd correct it. But there are times when in the first place we were not told what we did wrong. Why is that so? To put it simply, it is because if we realize our mistakes ourselves we would not forget it since we really know ourselves the exact thing we did wrong. So the next time around we will very meticulous in how we do things and such. Now, say they told us what we did wrong, does that mean that we would forget it in the long run? I tell you it is an absolute no. Because you would still know what you did wrong and you would make a chance to change that. So in the end, you would still avoid doing wrong.
Now, the second reason is the very main thing in this blog post - improvement. As I said in the second and third paragraph, nobody is a perfect being and this is because if that happened, then we'd be stuck with the same things for the rest of our lives. And so why are we imperfect? We are imperfect because through this, we will keep on improving and improving our lives everyday; making life bearable for each other and at the same time making the everyone's lives easier. A very concrete example of this was the invention of the computer. We used to remember that computers were as big as rooms and needed a lot of maintenance just for us to be able to use it efficiently. If we were perfect, we would be satisfied with that veeerrrryyy big computers. But since we weren't we found ways to make computers smaller, faster, and more efficient to use. So since that time the first physical computer was made, we invented more and more computers which are smaller than the first and now we already have computers in the palm of our hands, known as the cellphones, tablets, etc. Thus improvement really is a very important key to making life better for everybody.
But most especially, who is the one who really gives us second, third, fourth, fifth, and even more chances? It is the one who created us all. All this time he was up there looking at us, taking note of our very actions, correcting us in every step of the way, and helping us improve our lives and other people's lives. So it is really just right to respect the one who created us all and thank him for creating us imperfectly because not only does he know what is best for us, but also because he has a very great plan for every single one of us.
